Empowering you to make informed decisions for your child.

A Path Through the Education Maze

Parenting is hard. But making high-stakes educational decisions for your child? That can feel impossible.

Between deciphering special education evaluations, navigating all the meetings, and managing the emotional toll at home, it’s easy to feel like you’re guessing at your child’s future. You shouldn’t have to be an educator and psychologist just to be a parent.

Our Partnership

Through our collaborative partnership, I help you decode the complex processes, systems, and educational pathways within your child's school. We will work together to transform overwhelming information into a clear, actionable roadmap. My role is to be your strategic partner, providing as much or as little support as you need to feel fully equipped and informed at every turn.

Data Review and Planning

Meeting Support and Consultation

Navigating school meetings can be overwhelming. I can attend IEP and other school based meetings with you to listen deeply and ask the "why" and "how" questions that ensure your child's needs are met.

Whole Child Planning & Ongoing Consultation

I collaborate with existing service providers and other stakeholders to help ensure that your child is being seen as a whole person and that their needs are being met in a consistent manner across settings.

Beyond the evaluation process and meetings, I offer dedicated, ongoing advisory, placement consultation, and non-school based meeting support to ensure you have the clarity and guidance needed to make informed decisions at every turn.

Psychoeducational Evaluations for School Districts

I contract with school districts to complete cognitive assessments and/or comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations as part of the special education eligibility process.

  • “I highly recommend Melissa to any family navigating the world of specialized education. She helped my husband and I navigate the private school ISP process, working closely with us, the county commission, our son’s principal, and his teachers to secure the immediate support he needed, while also helping us make well-informed decisions about his future education. When your child is struggling and you don’t know where to start, call Melissa. She brings a deep understanding of how children learn and a remarkable ability to translate that knowledge into the best possible outcome. We are incredibly grateful for her guidance and the difference she has made in our son’s educational journey. “
